Breathe Stat Cloud Design Brief

Background

Having reached the crisis point in the United States, hospitals, doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals and now the CDC are reaching out via social media to ask for mission-critical help in solving the shortage of ventilators during the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  While there are efforts underway to increase the number of ventilators and other personal protection equipment (PPE), healthcare heroes cannot wait as the number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise and we are a week away from hospitals being at capacity.

The Design Corps Purpose-Driven Design Intent

Design and manufacture a low cost, connected ventilator device and cloud platform that will help people breathe when they are not able to breathe enough on their own. This platform will administer pulmonary data to healthcare practitioners and transmit 02 stats to a secure, private cloud based platform that helps track hospital I.C.U. and field hospital ventilator supply, capacity and patient health in real-time.

7. Secure iOS, Android mobile application and Alexa Skill for patient's caregivers and family members to remotely monitor patients quarantined with COVID-19.

Fund This Program

All proceeds donated to this program ensures ventilator device costs are covered, design apprentices receive compensation for their work, technology platforms remain open-source, secure and private by design.
